A022 Digital Client Project: APA Special Attractions

The Agency for the Performing Arts is one of the top talent agencies in the United States, boasting top-tier clients in comedy, music, performing arts and literature. Each year, the agency’s New York office produces a full-color brochure in preparation for major conferences and industry events, designed to help showcase the talent to be booked for the next year.

In 2010, the agency needed to be able to do more than simply hand a brochure to a theatre representative.  Their agents needed to be be able to provide an online destination for potential clients to peruse the available shows, a simple yet rich display of the brochure’s content that theatre directors could send to their staffs and discuss with committees.  So, A022 created a site for them which maintains the magazine experience, but as an interactive display that is the focal point of user’s attention.  This flip-page reader allows for a great display of print design in an online setting and makes it easy for agents to discuss acts with any potential buyers viewing the same magazine.

In order to prevent the magazine images from being neglected by search engines, we also added a textual version of the magazine- each act represented by APA’s New York office is categorically listed on the site, and all the acts described in the magazine have full-text pages with YouTube videos, descriptions, images and links to social media outlets so visitors can have all the information they need.
